Iceland

Hi there! today I would like to interpolate with the post about Iceland – I have just came from there. It was one of the place that was on my bucket list for such a long time. It was absolutely the best decision to end up a travel year in there. That is definitely the place out of this world. I would even say it is kind of sureal! It is visually captivating in a way I haven't seen elsewhere.

I started my trip in Reykjavik, I walked around the stunning but small city unfortunately during the winter time the daylight hours are very limited. It is a day just 3-4 hours so it is definitely too little to see all but the weather is milder than in Poland which should be the opposite! The prices throws me off my feet. Everything is super expensive so remember to take a big food supplies!

I rented a car so it was easy to move, I decided to do a golden ring which seems to be the best route. I have seen super waterfalls, amazing landscapes and geysers! And I had a bath in in Blue Lagoon which was amazing experience! I attach some pictures so you can envy me a bit.

Lost bags! Night in super hotel!

After Mexico we went to Belize and then to Gwatemala by bus. We stopped in Flores which was a cute small town. On our way we met Irish couple. They were travelling in Central America for 1 year!

After a super day in Flores we were supposed to go to Honduras. Unluckily the coach was departing at 6 am so we had a long nap in the bus that caused us a lot of problems because after 4 hours of a ride we were obligated to change the coach. As we fell asleep we didn't swap it and we woke up on the border with Salwador then the driver told us that our bagpacks are in the other bus going to Honduras! We were shocked, the driver did not let us go with him, we needed to leave right away! We were in the middle of nowhere without our stuff. My boyfriend was blaming me all the time... that was the moment I wanted to come home. I felt so fed up of this trip... But now we had another mission. To get back our bags and to reach to Honduras. The only way was to come back to a city where we were supposed to change the bus and wait till tomorrow to take another one. So that we did. We entered to the first hotel we saw, super happy that it cost just 16 zł per person! But then the guy guided us to our room. We didn't expect luxury but we didn't know that we would sleep in not renovated ex cell! Just imagine metal door with feeder, shower without handset, no flap in the toilet, no window! Lucklily the bed was new! That was a hard day. When we got the loooong key to our cell the only thing we could do was to laugh.

Super meeting

7 years ago when I was teenager I used to learn languages very intensively, as I hadnt opportunity to to go for a meeting with some foreigners I used to use busuu.com website which was a great place to polish my skills and to chat with people. One of that person I came across was Guillermo- a guy from Mexico, Guadalajara. Surprisingly during the 7 years we kept in touch via skype, busuu the whatsapp. We never had a chance to see eachother in Europe till that special day i went to Mexico.

The peculiar meeting was one of the best experience ever. Guillermo picked me up from the airport and took me to his family home. His parents and brothers were incredibly nice for me and let me taste all of the secretful mexican dishes and fruit. I felt there like at my family's house I didnt want to leave. Guillermo came up a very caring and hospitable person. It was amazing meeting I hope he will come to Poland with colorful sombrero and I ll have an opportunity to show him the beauty of our country.

:)

Today I don't feel like writing about my adventures from summer time. I am in my home town, sitting in my room, full of things that are meaningless now. I look around and all the objects don't resemble anything to me. What are they for? What am I doing here?

In one and a half year, I will finish my studies. One stage of my life that i was waiting so unpatiently will be done. But today I am scared, I am thinking what will I do with myself. Where will I go? Where will I live? Will I stay in Poznań or maybe I will come back to Chojnice? Who will give me work ? Will I be happy? I even doubt of my knowledge. Am i enough educated to do something useful? Those are all thoughts that invade my mind.

I do not know if you, my friends, have the same worries or not. But across my heart I am trully afraid.

Mexico!

After a few weeks in overwhelming United Stated of America, I finally crossed the border to Mexico. (I was waiting unpatiently for that moment!) This is one of the best countries I have visited. I was very impressed by their cuisine, hospitality, culture and history.

I started my trip through that impressing country in Tijuana – which is considered as one of the most dangerous cites in Mexico (and in the world). But from my experience Tijuana is safe enough, I had no problems whatsoever. Perhaps it is because I projected the confidence wherever I went and I showed myself as the fearless so that nobody had a chance to pick on the bad vibe and take advantage of me.

Tijuana is also known from the best tacos ever! That is completely true, tijuanian tacos are just unforgettable, cheap, good quality and filling. Unfortunately the polish version of Mexican food is merely look-alike. It is more like Tex-Mex. Which is a mix of mexican and american food.

1st stop USA!

Probably my longest and more distant trip so far started on the 28th of June 2016. My dream was about to become true. I was super excited as well as a bit stressed, I didn't know what to expect. because Central America has been my number 1 priority, it gained a place in my heart due to the fact that I am a fan of Martyna Wojciechowska's TV show.

As you can see on the map, I started my adventure going to USA (it's to find flights there), which didn't impress me that much. In fact, the United States kind of disappointed me. It is definitely overrated and, in some cases, unfriendly and rough for most of individuals, that country. Full of plastic bags, unhealthy food and fat and insane people. I am pretty sure I will not come back there any more (maybe just when I will have a stop over). Unfortunately, the largest economy in the world does not inspire my respect for it. In my vision, the country has very little to offer. The cities just sound and seem to be cool, but looking on them with a deeper vision, you can find much better places in the world, where the priority and absolute value is not money.

How to travel cheap.

Before I will share with you my stories from the places I have been so far. Firstly, I want to launch this question : " From where do you have so much money to travel so far?". So the answer is, I travel with low budget. First of all, I always plan my trips with some months ahead ( well my boyfriend is an expert in planning so lets say I am a lucky one ). If it comes about the plane tickets I usually buy it during the promotions or when there is an error fare. According to the alimentation, I don't eat in restaurants. I usually choose the cheapest bars, or eat from supermarkets. And the last issue- acommodation - which seems to be the most expensive and the worst thing for all tourists. But not for me! I am constant user of couchsurfing. If you have never heard about it let me explain you how it works.
So each user need to create a profile on www.couchsurfing.org ,fill out all the information, upload some photos and then if you are looking for the place to sleep search for members by location and contact them directly. Couchsurfing is a great invention not only to save money but also to meet great people. I realized that I have been to restaurants, pubs, festivals that I would never discover as a traveller. Ok but where would you sleep? It all depends of individual. My experience vary from a huge villa with swimming pool through a floor space with 7 others couchsurfers from all over the world. As you can see couchsurfing it is not just a free couch! Depends how much one has to share. Life is all about sharing.

HI, I am simple girl!

I am Agata, polish student of spanish philology who cherishes life, people, travelling and eating. In love with spanish and latinamerican culture. Addicted to popcorn, chocolate and yerba mate.

I find myself imerse on other cultures, almost all my days off and the weekends I spend travelling. I wish I could consider myself as a traveller which sounds much better than a tourists, unfortunately there are too many people buying all inclusives.

For now I am just a part-time traveller because I need to finish my studies and I have to work to sponsor my all trips. Although, last year I had a gap in which I travelled to Central America, Mexico and USA. I have to confess that I feel hungry of more adventures and I hope to become a full-time traveller after my studies because my bucket list of the places that I want to visit is huge.

This blog is not dedicated only to my trips. I plan to write here about all my experiences, post some thoughts, recipes and share with you with all my adventures.
