After Mexico we went to Belize and then
to Gwatemala by bus. We stopped in Flores which was a cute small
town. On our way we met Irish couple. They were travelling in Central
America for 1 year!
After a super day in Flores we were
supposed to go to Honduras. Unluckily the coach was departing at 6 am
so we had a long nap in the bus that caused us a lot of problems
because after 4 hours of a ride we were obligated to change the
coach. As we fell asleep we didn't swap it and we woke up on the
border with Salwador then the driver told us that our bagpacks are in
the other bus going to Honduras! We were shocked, the driver did not
let us go with him, we needed to leave right away! We were in the
middle of nowhere without our stuff. My boyfriend was blaming me all
the time... that was the moment I wanted to come home. I felt so fed
up of this trip... But now we had another mission. To get back our
bags and to reach to Honduras. The only way was to come back to a
city where we were supposed to change the bus and wait till tomorrow
to take another one. So that we did. We entered to the first hotel we
saw, super happy that it cost just 16 zł per person! But then the
guy guided us to our room. We didn't expect luxury but we didn't know
that we would sleep in not renovated ex cell! Just imagine metal door
with feeder, shower without handset, no flap in the toilet, no
window! Lucklily the bed was new! That was a hard day. When we got
the loooong key to our cell the only thing we could do was to laugh.
