As my mum has hard time
and she feels very down I decided to take her on ice skating. I was
worried that she will not want to try it but I was wrong! She was
happy and seems that she enjoyed it. She took her mind off and that
make me at least a bit better. We both do not know how to ice skate
but I wish we can improve it soon. The season for ice skating didn't
finish yet, it is quite cheap in my home town it is only 14 zł and
for students 6zł with skates! It is even less than going to the
cinema or bowling! After knowing how to ice skate we plan to go for
yoga and skii.

It is time to be sick!
Santa it is not the only one who is
getting a lot of attention during this period. Winter it is a time
for cold and flu. Anyone can get it but some of us are at higher
risk. Some are more resistant than the others or simply takes care of
themselves better. This year I have decided to make myself immune to
flu and cold drinking Actimel every morning. Till now I have to
confess that it works. I still wasn't very sick and I hope I will
not.
Hard work!
All of you who know me
realised that I am quite lazy human being and I hate working hard. I
am that kind of person that always does the minimum needed and I have
never rushed to be the best at school or to have the best marks, I
truly believe that marks are just numbers and only me is concious of
what I know and what I do not know. Of course there is also talent
which is inborn quality that help us achieve goals however talent
does not guarantee success. My only problem is that I don't want to
achieve much. I do not want to work from 8 to 15 I do not want to be
the business woman or the owner of 5 star hotel. The only thing that
I want is to be free, to work as less as possible and to be happy so
that I will never be depressed.
Dry shampoo
A year ago I have
discovered a perfect thing for my hair. It is a dry shampoo that
reduces hair greasiness without water. The shampoo seems to be a bit
pricey around 14 zł for a small bottle and contains butane and
propane which is not good for my hair condition. That is why I tried
to make dry shampoo by myself. I mixed cornstarch with few drops of
lavender oil and applied it on my hair with an old make up brush. The
effect was totally the same like with commercial dry shampoo. I save
my money and also save my hair from explosive chemicals.
Tempeh
Many people during their
trips find important to try local cuisine believing that getting to
know their meals they are getting closer to the culture of the
country. I do not really think so but while travelling through
Indonesia I had a chance to try tempeh. It is their traditional soy
product made by a natural culturing and controlled fermentation
process which is formed in cake form. Tempeh is healthier than tofu
but not that popular in Europe. I miss the taste of tempeh it was my
favourite thing in Bali. While travelling I am not into trying new
dishes. I am not a big fan of extraordinary food but tempeh surprised
me and I hope that soon I will have chance to eat it again
''Lion long way home''
Lately I have seen cool movie ''Lion long way home'' based on the book of Saroo Brierley. Some films really moves me and it was definitely one of them. The plot was about five-years-old Indian boy named Saroo who was lost on the train station. After twenty-five years in Australia the boy worked out how to find the way back home. The movie is based on a real life story. I do not want to spoil the movie only to recommend it. The film became my one of the best ones I have latelly seen.
January Sales!
It is official! Jaunuary is known as
the most depressing month of the year. People are feeling exhausted
and drained after Christmas. However, January is a window of
opportunity to spice up your fasion sense in the cheapest way. Almost
every shop is proposing us big sales. The pices are tempting us but
watch out because that might be a trap. Sincerelly, I like observing
people queueing outside their favourite shop from day one of the
sale.
New Year's Resolutions
January it is a perfect time to reflect
and reslove to change live. The tradition of New years resolutions
seems to be very popular in every corner of the world but sometimes
it might dissapointing if only after a few weeks you realise that it
is harder to stick to your promises than you thought. That is why I
never make any new years resolutions. I know that I can not
accomplish my dreams overnight but being strict and persistent I can
make some progress. I do not need any promises because where there
is a will there is a way.
Smoothie Time!
Lately, I have been
thinking of trying to eat more veggies and fruits. I invested in a
personal smoothie maker and decided to drink once a day a dosage of
vitamins from smoothies. When things are very busy making coctails
becomes quite annoying especially when grabbing from the box is so
convenient. Although I have to confess that after a month of drinking
a big amount of smoothies I feel healthier, lighter and my skin is
much brighter. The smoothie blender are cheap and useful. I really
recommend it if you are tired of simple veggies or fruts.
New Years Eve
Christmas is gone, New
Year's Eve is looming, and Valentines day will be here before we know
it.
Talking about New Year's
Eve it is the one night in the year when the whole world comes to
celebrate. Some of them spend weeks preparing themselves to this
celebration, while others prefer to retire at home and watch ''New
Years Eve with TVN'' with a blanket and a hot drink.
I defenitely am the one
that most of the New Year's Eves spend at home under the blanket. I
sincerelly do not like this period of the year. It seems to me very
plastic and sometimes might be dangerous. That is why this year I
will celebrate this holiday with my 80 yrs old auntie and my cat.
Christmas gift!
As every christmas I do
not expect big and expensive gifts from my relatives. I try to be
happy from everything I get. But this year my sister gave me
surprising and pretty present (do not take me wrong I do not want to
boast I only want to share with you) I got scratch world map. Th map
is invented to help document travel. The map gives me the sense of ''
winning'' and it is totally fun to have it on my wall. I m really
happy of having it and I wanted to thank to my sister for it.

Happiness does it exist?
In todays life everybody is longing to
be happy but what really is a happiness? It seems to be a
combination of how satisfied you are with your life and how good you
feel in your day to day life. Seems quite easy to acheve but
unfortunately it is not as easy as it seems to be. Every human being
have to learn how to be happy. We all have the ability to control our
feelings and with consistent practise we all can life long habit for
more satisfying and fulfilling life.
What to cook in october?
October it is a month full of leaves
which are changing colours and frost starting to appear in the
morning. I ungladly have to confess that it is a time to start
fatening up! We all are preparing ourself to hibernate and survive
the winter which is getting closer. During that halloween atmosphere
I am up to cook soups especially from pumpkin and what is the
funninest I end up making soup for 3-4 days so that I do not need to
think about cooking for the next few busy days.
Let me share with you my favourite
recipe for pumpkin soup which you can find on the website:

Welcome
Welcome after holidays.
As my duty is to write
the blog I decided to change the topic of my posts. This year I do
not want to share with you with my adventures, trips and my private
life. From now I plan to continue the blog with boring stuff that
comes to my mind. That's all caused by a need of widen another type
of vocabulary and willingness of learning something new. I believe
that the blog might be a bit less interesting and some of the posts
might seem as dull as ditchwater but that is my last chance to learn
something more. I hope you will be lenient with me and if you wish to
know something about my adventures to Asia, Brazil or Japan do not
hesistate to ask me.

Recently I came up with a
nice idea of adopting an old dog form a shelter. Unfortunately to do
it I would need to have bigger flat and be more present at home. The
idea will need to wait few more years till I manage to buy a flat or
a small studio. But still I would love to help the abandoned dogs and
cats in the shelters especially the old ones which are totally left behind (the ugly and old ones). I
have decided to walk the dogs in the Poznanian shelter or to stay
''online'' owner of the dog. I am still considering which idea would
be better for me.
Last attacts made me
think a lot about the trips I made and how lucky I was. I have to
confess that I am a bit scared of what is happening. I constantly
question myself why that takes place and if we can avoid it somehow.
I am aware that being alert and avoiding places with big group of
people might save my life but I do not want to miss any nice moment
in my life. That is why I do not follow any rules and I live the
moment believing that I will be lucky again.
That is why going to
Philipines at the end of June is only my decision. I heard that it is
dangerous over there and it is on the list of risky places. It is my
concious choice and I will not change my decision.

Sardegna
This May Day picnic I
spent in Sardegna. It was my second time over there and I have to
confess that this island is one of my the best places I have ever
visited. When I was there 2 years ago I had a huge fight with my
boyfriend that's why we have decided to come back there and bring the
good memories from that mysterious place.
As an island Sardegna has
a bit more expensie food products and petrol. If it comes about
accomodation the price is regular although we were there in low
season so I suppose that the prices may rise a bit. For may the
island wasn't too crowded and the temperature was perfect: not too
cold and not too hot. Tha was the best timing we could choose.

Long weekend
Till yesterday I wasn't sure
what will I do during that 5 days off. I didn't want to spend time at
home My boyfriend went to New Zealand and I was a bit sad that I can
not go with him. I decided to take the decision spontanouously and I
went 11 hours to Bonn to visit my sister. That was a great deal
because I didn't see her for long and the weather over here is much
better than in Poland.
Today we will make barbecuse
and eat german 'wurst'. I am really excited and I wish you all a
great holidays.

India
If it comes about India I had big expertations. I expected that I
will feel like in Thailand or Malaysia but when I arrived to Mumbai
an odd smell, dust and noise of the horn welcomed me. It was a night,
I took a tuk tuk to hotel and with a jet lag I tried to fall asleep.
Next day was very nervous because I didn't have Indian currency and
the crisis in India caused limits in withrowing money from cash
machines. At the end, I solved the problem and went sightseeing. The
city was a big mess but I kind of liked the atmosphere over there.
What hit me the most was the poor people and homeless animals.
Children without shoes, pants and even without lingerie walking on
the street. I defenitely wasn't prepared for that view. The worst
thing was that I couldn't help them all. The incident that will
always stay in my mind is from the main street in Mumbai. While I was
walking, a little dirty boy started to hang on my leg and he didn't
want to set me free. He didn't beg for food or money he just wanted
attencion. The boy is used to be raised on the street he doesn't know
better life. But when I was there I thought ''what a shitty life he
has, if God exists he isn't fair'' I was coming to my hotel where I
had warm water, full fridge and clean clothes and I felt sad and
lucky. The trip was a great lesson of humbleness, value of life and
humility

Issues of India
Before I will write here more details
from my trip I would like to share mmy thoughts about issues of
India.
Travelling to India is a really intense
experience. The cultural mix and gap from the west is overwhelming.
You are forced to see the inequalities of the world and among indian
society.
From all the issues that India faces, 2
seem the most urgent: poverty and pollution.
About the last one it's easy to get,
there are little hygiene habits, gargabe is thrown on the street,
corners or sources of water. The dirtyness its in a big scale in the
bigger cities. No organization can take care of this issue because
the problem seems to start on everyone's education.
Then poverty, being the worst case in
Mumbai. Hundreds of homeless and many orphans accumulate next to busy
roads. What kind of life is that? What to do with that? Huge scale
family planning, feeding or adoption programs? In India you see a lot
of things yet to be done and you have to question yourself if you
could be useful as an individual. You have to realize that the world
is not just the warm corner you live in, and maybe there are more
important things than the stuff you aim to buy one day.
